ACCRA, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Ghana has climbed two places to 73rd in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Friday.
The Black Stars' rise comes after strong performances in this month's 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they beat the Central African Republic 5-0 and Comoros 1-0 to book their place at next summer's tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Spain, Argentina, France, England and Portugal occupy the top five positions in the global rankings.
Despite the improvement, Ghana's standing within Africa remains unchanged at 14th. Morocco continues to lead the continental rankings, followed by Senegal, Egypt, Algeria and Nigeria.
