BUENOS AIRES, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Former Elche manager Jorge Almiron has been shortlisted for Boca Juniors' vacant head coaching role, according to media reports in Argentina.
The 51-year-old arrived in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, where he was expected to meet with Boca's vice president and sporting director, Juan Roman Riquelme, newspaper Ole reported.
Almiron has been out of work since parting with Spain's Elche last November.
Others reportedly under consideration for the job include former Uruguay manager Diego Alonso, ex-Brazil boss Tite and Spaniard Diego Martinez.
Boca Juniors are currently being led by Mariano Herron, who replaced Hugo Ibarra last week on an interim basis amid a bad run of results.
