Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Jerusalem reach Israel's basketball State Cup final 2023/2/14 source: Print

JERUSALEM, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Euroleague side Maccabi Tel Aviv and Champions League team Hapoel Jerusalem both qualified for the Israeli State Cup final after two semifinals held at the Pais Arena in Jerusalem on Monday evening.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Tel Aviv defeated Ironi Ness Ziona 85-73, largely thanks to 19 points and nine assists by Lorenzo Brown, alongside 16 points and 11 rebounds by Josh Nebo.

D.J. Cooper contributed a team-high 16 points and 12 assists for Ness Ziona.

In the second semifinal, Jerusalem took advantage of their home arena to beat Hapoel Haifa 77-73.

Zach Hankins finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners, while his teammate Levi Randolph scored 14 points. Anthony Hickey scored a team-high 22 points for Haifa.

The final, to be played on Thursday evening in the same hall in Jerusalem, will decide whether Maccabi will win the cup for the 46th time or Jerusalem for the seventh time.
