GENEVA, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- The World Aquatics announced Tuesday the draws of men's and women's water polo events of the World Aquatics Championships 2024, which will be held in Doha, Qatar, on February 2-18, 2024.

At least four men's and two women's teams will qualify for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 through the world championships in Doha, where the swimming, artistic swimming and diving events will also take place. Open water swimming and high diving competitions will be played at a port in Doha to complete the six-discipline championships.

In the women's water polo competition, defending champions the Netherlands were drawn in Group A along with Pan American Games gold medalists the United States and silver medalists Brazil, as well as Kazakhstan.

Fukuoka 2023 runners-up Spain are joined by China in Group B, with the two other spots of the group decided after the Women's European Championships.

In the men's event, World Cup champions Spain were bracketed in Group A with South Africa and Australia, with the last berth to be confirmed after the 2024 Men's European Championship.
