LONDON, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Fulham on Tuesday extended the contract of coach Marco Silva until the end of June 2026, the club confirmed.

The move means the Portuguese coach will stay a further two seasons at Craven Cottage after his previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current season.

Silva's new deal is a reward for leading Fulham to promotion to the Premier League two years ago, taking them to an impressive 10th place last season and leading them to 13th after nine games of the current campaign.

"I'm really pleased to sign a new contract as it was something we had been discussing for some time. It's always a good sign when both parties are happy and want to continue working together," the former Hull City, Watford and Everton boss told the Fulham website.

"I feel that the business is not done yet, we've had two great seasons, and the goal is clearly there to sustain this club in the Premier League. This is key for the future of this club, and we are working hard to achieve it," he commented, adding that he felt it was "important" to have the support of the club's owners.

"My relationship with them, and with Fulham as a whole, has been really important in this decision and the success of the last two seasons," said Silva.
