ISLAMABAD, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's cricket team on Wednesday clinched a comprehensive victory against Bangladesh in the Super-4 stage of the ongoing 2023 Asia Cup in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore.
Pakistan chased a target of 194 set by Bangladesh by seven wickets with fifties from opener Imam-ul-Haq and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first, but lost four wickets to Pakistan's pace attack at 47, before senior players captain Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim shared a partnership of 100 runs.
Pakistan's pace attack broke the 100-run partnership when Hasan lost his wicket to medium-pacer Faheem Ashraf, and Bangladesh were all out for 193 in the 39th over.
Despite losing three wickets with long intervals, Pakistan consolidated the chase and won the match in the 40th over with seven wickets in hand.
Pakistan's fast bowler Haris Rauf was declared player of the match with four wickets from 19 runs in six overs.
Both sides will fly to Sir Lanka where Bangladesh will play against the host nation on September 9, while Pakistan will take on India on the following day in Colombo.
