A cultural and people-to-people bonding event was held on Monday at the Presidential Center in Astana, Kazakhstan, on the occasion of Chinese President Xi Jinping visiting the country to attend the 2nd China-Central Asia Summit.
The event, attended by over 150 guests from political, economic, cultural, media, and educational circles in China and the five Central Asian countries, was co-hosted by China Media Group and the TV and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter, wishing the event fruitful outcomes.
Attendees at the event said that the friendship between China and the Central Asian countries has a long and storied history, with people-to-people bonds always serving as a bridge connecting the hearts of the peoples of China and Central Asia.
The event was an opportunity to deepen pragmatic cooperation between China and the Central Asian countries in education, arts, media, and other fields.
An initiative for strengthening media cooperation between China and Central Asian countries was released at the event, calling for the establishment of a China-Central Asia media cooperation alliance to contribute to building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
At the event, a renowned Kazakh singer performed the Kazakh song "Nightingale" and the Chinese song "On the Fields of Hope," to symbolize the friendship between China and Central Asia.
