Beijing International Photography Week 2025 officially opened on Saturday, launching a citywide celebration of visual culture with multiple themed exhibitions and 12 interconnected exhibition zones, presenting what event organizers called as "Image·Beijing Map".
The China Millennium Monument serves as the main exhibition venue, linked with 11 parallel exhibition areas across the capital city to create the "Image·Beijing Map".
Among them, the National Image Exhibition brings together 100 photography feature pages and over 200 outstanding works from several mainstream domestic media.
The "Remember History, Cherish Peace" section features selected breathtaking scenes from the V-Day parade held on Sept 3, 2025 to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, showcasing the strong demeanor of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
Other segments of the exhibition highlight landmark triumphant achievements scored during the 14 Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) and present a panoramic view of China striding forward on the path of the Chinese modernization in the new era.
The Photography Week also featured simultaneous launches of multiple special exhibitions, including a Silk Road photography exhibition, the Ecological Imagery Tour, and a show of integration of technology and art.
A number of works combining AI technology with new forms of dynamic photography were also on display during the event.
"The event will feature a total of 20 dialogues and exchanges, along with 50 exhibitions, presenting nearly 5,000 works from photographers across 26 countries. These innovative pieces showcase a seamless cross-boundary integration of technology and art," said Yang Yuanxing, president of the Organizing Committee of Beijing International Photography Week 2025.
