The second season of the China Short Video Conference, a nationwide cross-media event that was recently launched in Hangzhou City of east China's Zhejiang Province, highlights how short videos integrate with various industries and spark creativity.

Hosted by China Media Group (CMG), the program responds to the dominant short-video trend in recent years, aiming to foster the development and innovation of the new form of media. The first season of the program was launched in Sept 2022, and was aired later in 2023.

Compared with the debut season of the program, the second season, themed "short video linking thousands of industries", focuses on how short videos leverage the personal experiences of individual creators in diverse industries and refresh creativity.

"In the first season of the China Short Video Conference, we gathered countless outstanding creators from across the country, aiming to explore the boundaries between short videos and their respective sectors and to share practical experiences. For season two, we are focusing more on creators' entrepreneurial stories, their explorations as they manage their projects, and the challenges they face," said Zuo Xing, geneneral director of the China Short Video Conference Season Two.

Given the low entry barrier, this new form of media allows people from all walks of life to showcase their innovations, thus bridging the public with all industries, Xu Husheng, a guest of the program noted.

"Short videos are now deeply intertwined with various industries. Creators are bringing their past industry experience into the entire value chain through short videos, even building personal IPs along the way. This model is vastly different from traditional content creation and production methods. But quality content remains the foundation. Even if you integrate with only one industry, there will always be many competitors. The key question is who can stand out and who can adapt to the changing trends. In the end, it all depends on the content," said Xu.
