March 30, 2026 – The City of Rosemead is excited to welcome U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu to present a ceremonial check at the Garvey Avenue Community Center.  The ceremony will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7.

The $500,000 check symbolizes funding to support crucial renovations of the facility to ensure the center remains a welcoming and functional space for years to come.

This project represents an investment in the well-being and vibrancy of our community, reinforcing the Garvey Community Center's role as a cornerstone of community life in Rosemead.

"The Garvey Avenue Community Center is a special place that brings the people of Rosemead together, but it is in need of modernization," said Rep. Chu. "That is why I was thrilled to secure $500,000 in congressional Community Project Funding to help the City of Rosemead renovate and update its facilities. From preschool to senior activities, these funds will ensure that this facility is modern, safe, and accessible for community members of all ages.”
