A dreamlike sea of clouds appeared over the Jiuhua Mountain, one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism, in east China's Anhui Province after a bout of spring rain on Wednesday.
The mountain mists rose up and gathered into a vast sea of clouds, swirling and turning among the thousand-meter-high peaks, creating a picturesque scene together with ancient pines, temples, and rugged peaks, and presenting a stunning landscape with mountains half hidden in the clouds that were skirting around the summits.
According to staff at the scenic area, the Jiuhua Mountain is blessed with abundant moisture and an appropriate temperature difference between day and night in spring. So the sea of clouds appears frequently, and lasts for a long time in a rich variety of forms as well, making spring the golden season to view the sea of clouds.
