The 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is slated to be held from September 8 to 11 in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province, with UK as its guest country of honor this year, the organizer announced Tuesday.
The four-day event will feature more than 70 investment-themed activities and over 100 roadshows, covering an area of approximately 120,000 square meters, Vice Minister of Commerce Ling Ji told a press conference in Beijing.
"So far, delegations from more than 110 countries, regions and international organizations have signed up, with 51 countries and regions to host exhibitions. This year's fair features the United Kingdom as its guest country of honor. The United Kingdom will send a delegation of nearly 200 representatives composed of government officials, businesses, and associations to participate in the event, along with a series of exchange activities," Ling said.
Against the backdrop of weak global economic momentum, rising trade and investment barriers, and slowing cross-border investment, active participation in this event highlights China's enduring appeal to foreign investors, he noted.
First launched in 1997, the CIFIT, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, has become a key platform for promoting investment and facilitating global development.
