Setting up tents in a market by the side of the Bund of Shanghai, business operators in the city are boosting consumption on sports with people's enthusiasm pushed up by the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics.
As the market is on, the Bund has been transformed into a playground where people can cycle, play table tennis and basketball there.
"Cycling and playing basketball. Doing sports here is simply enjoyable," said a resident.
"I want to promote a healthier lifestyle and culture along with my fellow cyclists," said another resident.
The market also features models of Paris Olympic torch for visitors to take photo with and medal guessing competitions.
"Participants in the medal guessing competition may get some coupons, which then they can use in the stores. This is also a way to promote consumption," said Chong Xiaobing, president of Lianhua Supermarket Holdings Co., Ltd.
In the city's Xuhui District, a food carnival is also attracting consumers with various delicacies, ranging from traditional snacks to exotic dishes.
The food carnival will last until August 11.
