This year's Dragon Boat Festival - or Duanwu Festival - features intricately handcrafted sachets, vibrant five-color cords, and artistic mugwort decorations that are riding a swell of popularity among other cultural creative products.

As the three-day Dragon Boat Festival is here, the tantalizing array of Zongzi dumplings makes just the appetizer.
Since the start of the year, accessories featuring traditional Chinese motifs have been widely embraced by the market. Dealers at the Yiwu International Trade City of east China's Zhejiang province seized the trend and presented new products to meets the need.
Vendors have invested meticulous efforts into their designs, adorning pieces with tiger heads, zongzi dumplings, and moon-shaped fans for an air of Duanwu special refined elegance.
With the vibe of Dragon Boat Festival, orders of traditional cultural elements-themed accessories got on the rise.
"This year the trending outfit are Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) and Mamianqun (traditional Chinese skirt), so we designed those products to match such costumes," said Gan Meixiu, an accessories store owner.
In recent years, as affection for traditional culture has blossomed, locales across China have hosted distinctly flavored Dragon Boat Festival celebrations. Many young people take delight in gifting handmade cultural creations to friends and family as a heartfelt gesture.
On the production side, manufacturers have sniffed the changes in consumer preferences, rolling out semi-finished boat and dumpling models, as well as paper pulp painting for DIY enthusiasts.
One hand-made cultural creation product company in Yiwu prepared nearly a million items ahead of time, which have since sold out.
"Our cultural and creative products are integrated with traditional intangible cultural heritage elements. We did this a few years ago, but most of them were finished simple products such as sachets or lanterns. This year, we have turned our bamboo boat into a DIY product-- a material pack, so that a whole family can work together on this project to strengthen their interaction," said Yan Junhui, head of a stationery manufacturer.
