Shanghai authorities have rolled out a slew of measures aimed at further facilitating cross-border trade and fostering a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized world-class business environment at ports in the east China metropolis, according to a circular released on Monday.
As a crucial global trading hub, Shanghai has been ramping up efforts to advance the reform of its business environment, particularly in the international trade sector. The latest move sees the introduction of a total of 34 measures and the launch of a special campaign to further advance the facilitation of cross-border trade at the city's ports.
The measures are focused on several key aspects such as further improving the clearance efficiency of import and export goods, facilitating trade for industries driven by new driving forces in foreign trade, and supporting the integrated development of trade in goods and services.
They were jointly formulated by nine departments and units, including the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Shanghai Customs.
