The National Development and Reform Commission of China recently unveiled the list of 2023 national logistics hubs for construction, with the Qingdao airport-oriented national logistics hub approved. As one of China’s most comprehensive logistics hub cities, Qingdao has therefore become a national logistics hub integrating production, port, commerce and trade and airport services.
Located in the Jiaodong Demonstration Area for Airport Economy and adjacent to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, the Qingdao Airport-oriented National Logistics Hub boasts a total area of 7.5 square kilometers and covers Shandong Province’s only airport-oriented comprehensive bonded zone. The hub is designed to be an aviation gateway hub for the Belt and Road Initiative and the SCO Demonstration Area, an international aviation logistics organization center for the ASEAN and a nationally leading hub economy area with multiple roles, and equipped with the basic functions including aviation trunk-route transportation, intercity distribution, multimodal transport and transfer and international logistics as well as such supplementary functions as supply chain integration, emergency guarantee, cold chain logistics and information platform service.
