The 2023 High-level Forum for RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation took place in Qingdao from June 28 to June 30. In the forum, guests discussed and exchanged opinions on RCEP and integrated economic development in the Asia-Pacific region, international shipping trade facilitation, integrated development of industry chains and supply chains in the region, and new opportunities in digital economy and green economy.

     According to the Qingdao Initiative of China’s industrial and commercial circles on Co-constructing RCEP Mechanisms to Share Regional Cooperation Fruits released in the forum, it is proposed to bolster trade and fulfill duly the commitment to open investment, deepen industry cooperation to push upward regional value chains, explore the ways to open e-commerce finance and other sectors in a high level, drive RCEP signatories to put in place digital trade rules, and bolster sustainable development and intellectual property protection in the region.

In the opening ceremony, collective signing was held on more than 13 fields between RCEP signatories. Meanwhile, the AI version of “RCEP Shandong Trade” App was launched, which has set up a core database containing more than 300,000 pieces of information on RCEP import and export duties and will serve foreign trade enterprises in a thoughtful manner and at all times.  (Yu Ruixin)
