Let’s appreciate mountain- and seascapes in Qingdao 2023/6/30 source: International daily Print

Qingdao is full of green scenes in summer days.

In Qingdao, a city with distinctive charms, the mountains, the seas and the city blend into one harmonious whole, red tiles and green trees add radiance and beauty to each other, buildings of all national styles contend in beauty and fascination, and the new and old urban areas complement each other.

Sitting on favorable natural resources, Qingdao is accelerating the park city construction campaign, with which mountain parks have become an extended part of citizens’ houses as public “living rooms”.

In the central park of Taiping Mountain is paved a 7.9km-long greenway which interconnects the Zhongshan Park, Zoological Park, Beech Park and Botanical Garden. The greenway therefore becomes an optimal recreation or exercise site, along which citizens can have a panoramic view of scenery.

Xiaoyu Mountain Park, Monet's Garden in the eyes of tourists, appeals with its painting-like picturesque scenery to an endless stream of tourists from other places to take photos and post them onto social media. Xinhao Mountain, which echoes Xiaoyu Mountain in the long distance, and faces the sea with urban districts for a background, is one of the best scenic lookout where tourists can stand on the rotatable viewing platform to appreciate seascapes and cityscapes.

In Yan’er Island Park, tourists can walk along the wooden trestle by the sea to hear waves beat the shore, or sit leisurely on rocks at dusk to watch the sunset. The natural beauty, including meandering paths, proximity to the sea and the mountains and well-proportioned scenery, makes the park become a must-go tourist destination in Qingdao.
