The 42nd Qingdao Chrysanthemum Exhibition opened on Oct 24, showcasing nearly 20,000 pots of chrysanthemums across two parks in Qingdao, Shandong province.

Held at Taipingshan Central Park and Haibohe Park, this year's exhibition features 20 floral displays, with Zhongshan Park serving as the main venue.

The exhibition brings together around 300 varieties of single-stem chrysanthemums, including 100 varieties newly added this year. Visitors can also admire more than 50 varieties of miniature, firework-shaped, and multi-bloom chrysanthemums, along with 100 artistically shaped specimens.

At Zhongshan Park, six themed displays blend floral arrangements with Qingdao's coastal landscapes, architecture, and local folklore.

Highlights include a giant scroll-shaped installation depicting the city's signature red-roofed buildings, green trees, blue sea, and blue sky. Other attractions feature a flower-adorned boat, dolphin sculptures, a whale-themed garden inspired by local legends, and playful chrysanthemum sculptures.

Dating back to 1985, the annual exhibition has become a cherished autumn tradition in Qingdao. For generations of residents, visiting Zhongshan Park to admire the chrysanthemums has been a seasonal ritual, bringing families together and creating lasting memories.
