According to the latest national rankings, Qingdao has entered the top 10 inbound tourist destinations on both Ctrip and Tuniu, two online travel agencies. Bookings for home-stay hotels in Qingdao has secured the first position on Tujia Homestay. Furthermore, Qingdao ranked among top 10 for hotel bookings on Qunaer, another online travel agency.

The May Fourth Square was packed with people, where citizens and tourists stopped to take selfies in front of flower beds to remember such a nice moment. The Old Stone Man Bathing Beach, a well sought-after site for coastal recreations, where a variety of aquatics are available, gave tourists enormous relief. The “Touring Qingdao from the Sea” program saw a continuous stream of passengers during the National Day holiday, and received 4 million tourists this year ahead of schedule as pleasure-ships were loaded with tourists in high spirits.

Amid century-old Liyuan buildings in Dabaodao area, foreign tourists saw first-hand how history and modernity collided in Qingdao. Highly arousing band performances, vocal and instrumental performances and recreational shows took place in Shui Long Chi Zi Square, Xiaomaidao Park and Olympic Sailing Center to bring gratification to tourists. In the Laoshan Mountain Scenic Area, intangible cultural heritage, folk custom, artistic performances and interactive experience were incorporated into the sightseeing route, and immersive cultural experiences across the area highlighted the picturesque landscape and charming culture.  (Ma Xiaoting)
