Qingdao Forum on Intl Standardization to open in June 2023/5/10 source: Print

The 2023 Qingdao Forum on International Standardization will be held in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province on June 8 and 9, Shandong authorities announced at a recent news conference.

Jointly hosted by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and the State Administration for Market Regulation, the event has a theme of "Standardization supports green, low-carbon, and high-quality development". It consists of one themed conference, five parallel forums, and a series of supporting activities.

Heads of the International Standardization Organization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and other international standards organizations will be invited to the conference and deliver speeches. Representatives of standards and technology organizations at home and abroad will deliver keynote speeches on the development trends and latest achievements of international standardization in key industries.

The five parallel forums cover themes of "Standardization and marine negative emissions", "Standardization and new power systems (green energy)", "Standardization and modern green ports and navigation", "Standardization enabling green and low-carbon development of the China-SCO demonstration zone", and "Standardization talent training and capacity building".

Shandong will promote standardization innovation development and construction, attract a number of international standardization cooperation projects, as well as attract more domestic and foreign technical organizations to develop in Shandong, said local officials.
