During the handling operations of the vessel Majestic Maersk at Qingdao Port on Sept 3, the port broke the world productivity record on the AE15 service, which is operated under the Gemini Cooperation formed by Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd. Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao Port has continuously set new records in container operational efficiency, with the Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal consecutively setting five world records.

In April, the port set a new global single-vessel loading and unloading record while handling the vessel Madison Maersk on the Gemini Cooperation route. In May, the port set a new world berth productivity record on the Ocean Alliance's AEU1 route while handling the COSCO Shipping Aquarius. In June, the port broke the global record on the JADE route while handling the MSC Mette. In July, the port set a new single-vessel handling volume record on the Gemini Cooperation's AE15 route while handling the Maribo Maersk.

These productivity records are no coincidence. They reflect the maturity of Qingdao Port's production management system and its continuous efforts to refine lean management. From rigorously following a 72-hour forecasting and 24-hour confirmation process to the meticulous stowage planning that coordinates vessel berthing and berth resources, Qingdao Port has consistently focused on reducing non-operational waiting time as a key way to improve service efficiency.
