Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport has received two honors at the Airports Council International Global Customer Experience Summit, winning Best Airport of 25 to 40 Million Passengers in the Asia-Pacific and Cleanest Airport in the Asia-Pacific.
The recognition marks the second consecutive year that the airport has been named among the winners of ACI's Airport Service Quality Awards, reflecting its continued efforts to improve the passenger experience and strengthen its role as a regional aviation hub.
The airport is served by more than 50 airlines, connecting Qingdao with over 120 destinations in more than 10 countries. Links with Northeast Asia have continued to expand, with flights between Qingdao and Seoul averaging 17 a day in August. Passenger traffic on routes to Southeast Asia and Europe rose by 34 percent and 39 percent year-on-year, respectively.
The airport also recorded its busiest summer travel season to date, handling 39,200 flights and 5.98 million passenger trips. Passenger throughput exceeded 3.1 million in August for the first time, while daily traffic hit a record 104,200.
Alongside the expansion of its flight network, the airport has upgraded paperless travel, self-service facilities, multilingual assistance and transfer services. It has also introduced streamlined boarding procedures, overnight rest areas and integrated air-rail connections.
Since opening in 2021, the airport has steadily expanded its international connectivity while improving efficiency and passenger services, supporting Qingdao's growing links with Northeast Asia and other overseas markets.
