A new option is available to explore Qingdao. The newly unveiled “Lang Lang Ba-Sea Sightseeing Route” encompasses core cultural and tourist landmarks along Qianhai in Qingdao using two featured buses, which aims to turning the 19.5 kilometer-long golden coastline into a mobile platform to showcase the city, and can be comparable to a “mobile travel manual” helping tourists explore Qingdao in a thorough way.
Almost all passengers who take bus routes along Qianhai in Qingdao can have a glimpse of the sea. However, the “Lang Lang Ba” route is special in that coffee and beer culture is incorporated into public transport to cater to the needs of different passengers. Hard plastic seats in the carriage have given way to soft leather chairs. Custom-made cups are laid on wooden dining tables. Passengers can have a panoramic view of the beautiful coastline through extra-large windows.
The “Lang Lang Ba-Sea Sightseeing Route” starts at Tiantai Stadium, and the whole journey takes about 60 minutes. The route passes via more than 10 signature scenic spots in Qingdao, including Huiquan Square, the First Bathing Beach, Eight Great Passes, May Fourth Square, Xiaomai Island and Zhongshan Park. A complete picturesque scroll of Qingdao, which is composed of the old town featuring red tiles and green trees and the vast seascape with surging waves, unfolds itself slowly while the bus is running. A tour guide is provided through the journey to tell about the history of these scenic spots and cultural stories about the city. Therefore, passengers are able to gain knowledge of Qingdao, a century-old coastal city, in an immersive manner without getting travel tips in advance. (Zhou Jianliang)
