159 Qingdao-based enterprises “going overseas” to tap into markets in the first quarter 2023/4/28 source: International daily Print

Shenzhen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Taizhou, Guangzhou, Beijing, Qingdao, Jinhua and Foshan ranked among the top ten cities on the Chinese mainland in terms of the number of enterprises going abroad for exhibitions, according to the Research Bulletin on Data of Chinese Enterprises Attending Overseas Exhibitions for the first quarter of 2023, recently released by the China Trade News. Qingdao ranked eighth with 159 exhibitors.

As indicated in the bulletin, the top five sectors where Qingdao-based enterprises attended exhibitions most were machinery industry, construction machinery and parts, automotive parts and after sales service, transport industry and food, while the top five sectors where enterprises in Qingdao were the least inclined to go abroad for exhibitions were driving systems, rubber, agricultural machinery, transport and haulage equipment and other hardware. The top five destinations for Qingdao’s enterprises to attend exhibitions were Germany, Singapore, the US, Thailand and Russia. The five most popular exhibitions for Qingdao’s enterprises were the Tyrexpo Asia 2023, the VIV Asia 2003 in Bangkok, Thailand, the Asia-Pacific Sourcing 2023 in Cologne, Germany, the Heimtextil 2023 in Frankfurt, Germany and the National Hardware Show 2023 in Las Vegas, the US.

According to the deployment, this year, Qingdao will implement the marketing campaign involving “100 delegations, 1,000 enterprises and 10,000 exhibition staffs”, work out country-specific policies, organize industry-leading enterprises, competitive industry belts and operators of overseas warehouses to expand sales network abroad, step up policy support and assist enterprises in going global to vie for orders.
