On March 16, the first WinGD 6X72DF-A-1.0 ammonia fuel low-speed engine developed by CSSC Engine Co., Ltd. passed the acceptance inspection in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao. As China’s first ammonia fuel shipborne engine that is delivered as a commodity, it put an end to the situation that China hadn’t applied zero-carbon fuels to power vessels.

CSSC Engine Co., Ltd. is currently able to mass-produce ammonia fuel low-speed engines. With four assembly and testing benches in place, the company can roll out more than 20 ammonia fuel low-speed engines per year, well satisfying market demand for shipborne zero-carbon power sources.  (Gao Xiaoyan)
