FAW Jiefang Qingdao Automotive Company has reached a new milestone in its global expansion. The company's independently developed Jiefang Yingtu Euro VI heavy truck has secured an initial order of 20 units from a Mexican customer after rigorous testing and cross-border operations, marking the official entry of the Yingtu model into the demanding North American market.
This achievement follows nearly a year of intensive development. In April 2025, the project was launched specifically for Mexican road conditions. Instead of relying solely on laboratory testing, the R&D team traveled to Inner Mongolia's plateau in July 2025 to conduct real-world calibration of core safety systems, including AEBS and ESC, under extreme conditions. Two prototype vehicles arrived in Mexico in November 2025 and quickly earned market recognition through their outstanding performance. Based on this positive feedback, the first batch order was secured in January this year.
With strong market demand and growing brand reputation, exports of the Yingtu tractor to Mexico are expected to exceed 100 units this year, further strengthening FAW Jiefang's presence in overseas premium segments.
This global competitiveness stems from ongoing manufacturing innovation at the Qingdao facility. The company has rapidly expanded its new energy vehicle portfolio, producing 19,000 NEV units in 2025 — a remarkable 150 percent year-on-year growth. Flexible production lines now enable seamless switching between conventional and electric models based on market needs.
Driven by "green transformation" and "overseas expansion" as dual engines, FAW Jiefang Qingdao continues to elevate the profile of "Made in Qingdao" commercial vehicles on the world stage.
