The 2025 Top 500 Unicorn Enterprises Conference was held in Qingdao on December 3. According to the 2025 Report on Global Top 500 Unicorn Enterprises released in the conference, the top 7 Chinese cities in terms of the number of unicorn enterprises in 2025 are in sequence Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Suzhou and Qingdao.

To date, Qingdao has nurtured a cumulative total of 19 unicorn enterprises, ranking 2nd in Northern China. Overall, Qingdao-based unicorn enterprises closely associate with the local industrial foundation, cover the top four segments that comprise industrial internet, new energy, artificial intelligence, and life and health, and are well aligned with the city’s “10+1” innovation-driven industrial system. Furthermore, quite a few unicorn enterprises in Qingdao have been incubated on the platforms owned by mega-businesses. To name a few, COSMOPlat, Ririshun, Shaohaihui and Haier New Energy have all been hatched by Haier Group, Juhaokan is an internet technology company under Hisense Group and Teld is a holding subsidiary of Tgood.  (Zhou Xiaofeng)
