As the second seagull season kicked off, the winter tourism period in Qingdao’s cultural tourism market started. Tens of thousands of seagulls, who arrived as scheduled, join hands with the city to send invitations to tourists from home and abroad.
This year’s “Winter Tourism in Qingdao” campaign is aimed at carrying out a citywide and immersive innovative practice to translate ecological “traffic” into booming and sustainable tourism. Qingdao hopes to take advantage of the ten most selected routes, the top ten themed events, the top ten new consumption scenarios and the top ten internet-famous sites to deliver new winter tourism experience. Moreover, 160 featured events under the “Winter Tourism in Qingdao” campaign will be launched. Among them are the Shandong cuisine competition, New Year Eve’s celebrations, the hot spring festival, the ice and snow carnival, etc. Events will be held on a weekly basis, and highlight moments will be available every week. All these efforts are intended to stimulate remarkably consumption vitality in Qingdao’s winter tourism market. (Ma Xiaoting)
