PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gasfield Company, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corp, announced Sunday it achieved record natural gas production in the first half of 2025, with output exceeding 24 billion cubic meters.

From January to June this year, the company produced more than 24.02 billion cubic meters of natural gas, approximately 2.75 billion cubic meters more than that of the same period in 2024. The incremental scale ranks first among all oil and gas fields in China, according to the company statement.

The achievement was attributed to the successful commissioning of 15 new million-cubic-meter gas wells in the oil and gas field in the first six months of this year.
