The 210,000 tons Ammonia Ready No. 50 bulk carrier built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for Belgium-based CMB company was recently undocked in the shipbuilder’s no. 1 yard in Haixi Bay of Qingdao. This marks that Beihai Shipbuilding has overfulfilled the 2024 production target by building four more ships, and reached a new milestone with both output value and sales revenue topping RMB10 bln.
In 2024, Beihai Shipbuilding finished the delivery of 21 ships, whose carrying capacity added up to record 3.2 million tons. Over the year, the company launched a series of ships and saw development on a massive scale in three pillar ship types, namely, bulk carriers, container vessels and oil tankers. Committing to becoming a world famous shipbuilder, Beihai Shipbuilding received orders worth more than RMB10 bln for a second consecutive year, and continued to chalk up records for the total carrying capacity of ships. The company’s orders in hand comprise more than 60 ships, among which new energy-powered ships account for more than 90%. The company continues to make headway in market influence and competitiveness.
