The 2024 SCO Youth Development Forum, themed “Future Work: Cultivate and Develop New Driving Forces and New Skills”, was recently held in Qingdao.

The forum saw the unveiling of the list of SCO Youth Exchange and Cooperation Projects for 2024-2025 and the launching of the Global South Young Leaders Initiative. Around 170 youth representatives from ten SCO member states, namely, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, Iran and Belarus, as well as Mongolia and Afghanistan, two observer states, attended the forum.

Over recent years, the SCO Youth Campus and the SCO Youth Development Forum have played a positive role in helping youths from across SCO states to tackle common challenges. SCO member states have actively pursued cooperation between youths and reaped fruitful results in innovation and entrepreneurship, digital economy, remote education, and cultural exchanges.  (Yang Qiqi)
