Since the beginning of last year, Qingdao in Shandong province has prioritized promoting urban renewal and construction, especially the construction of city facilities. It is aiming to build a city with a high quality of life that is loved by its residents, with an improved environment for living, working, and visiting.

The city aims to improve the ecological environment and people's quality of life, with efforts being made to improve transportation infrastructure, public spaces, businesses, housing, and civic facilities.

Major infrastructure projects have been accelerated across the city. A total of 104 infrastructure projects have been carried out, with a total investment of 349.6 billion yuan ($50.79 billion).

A number of key municipal road projects, including the Haier Road-Yinchuan Road overpass, were completed and opened to traffic, while construction of the Chongqing Road Expressway and the second phase of the cross-sea bridge viaduct began.

The construction of all the seven lines planned for the third phase of the subway system has begun, and Metro Line 4 has been put into operation, bringing the total operating mileage to 315 kilometers in Qingdao.

The transformation of 29 urban villages was carried out smoothly, while breakthroughs were made in the development of Zhangcunhe and other areas. A total of 318 old residential districts have been renovated, with the environment of surrounding neighborhoods improving simultaneously.

The city has also accelerated the development of urban parks, completing the renovation of 60 mountain parks and adding 100 kilometers of urban greenways.
