Qingdao rolls out 17 measures to boost port economy 2024/11/11 source: International daily Print

On October 30, the conference on promoting the high-quality port-industry-city integration and the signing ceremony for cultivation of projects across the port and shipping industry chain was held in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao. Furthermore, the Qingdao West Coast New Area White Paper on Improving Business Environment of Ports was released. Representatives of 11 newly registered projects across the port and shipping industry chain signed the framework agreement on investment and development to open a new chapter in seeking high-quality port-industry-city integration in the West Coast New Area.

The white paper was jointly released by 11 departments including the Management Committee of West Coast New Area of Qingdao, Qingdao Port of Shandong Port Group, customs, departments of maritime affairs, immigration inspection and tax administration. With a focus on improving business environment, building Qingdao’s strength in port economy and advancing infrastructure construction, the white paper has rolled out 17 measures such as the adoption and implementation of customs clearance facilitation, “internet+” full-time high-efficiency examination and approval, law enforcement in a flexible way and prudential regulation on credit identification, incentives to introduce shipping professionals and have resources slanted towards important port and shipping projects. The white paper is designed to improve the ability to cluster resources, energize industrial development, build up the size and strength of port economy , and enable the port-industry-city integration to unleash new drivers of growth.  (Wang Kai)
