On May 29, 50 young scientific and technical practitioners in the frontline of research on sciences, engineering, agriculture and medicine won the 14th Qingdao Youth Science and Technology Award. Among the award winners, 27 of them are scientific and technical workers in colleges and universities, 12 are from scientific research institutions and the rest are from enterprises and other public institutions.

Founded in 1997 and presented biennially, the Qingdao Youth Science and Technology Award is a well-established event in Qingdao’s efforts to introduce talent and has been included in the initiative on building Qingdao’s strength through human resources development. Since 1997 till now, the Qingdao Youth Science and Technology Award, which has been running for 14 times, has been presented to a total of 661 outstanding young scientific and technical practitioners across the city, who have scored outstanding achievements in terms of scientific research, technological breakthrough, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, scientific popularization and industrial development.  (Geng Tingting)
