China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently unveiled the 2023 list of typical green and low-carbon cases, comprising a total of 54 cases. The construction of the automated terminal in Qingdao Port of Shandong Port Group into a five-starred port in terms of both the application of intelligent technology and environmental protection, a case submitted by Qingdao municipal bureau of ecology and environment alongside local enterprises, stood out as the sole case from Shandong Province to rank among the list of enterprises with green and low-carbon cases.

The fully automated container terminal in Qingdao Port leads global peers, and is known as Asia’s first fully automated container terminal in a true sense and first “hydrogen+5G” smart and green terminal as well as China’s first industrially recognized five-starred port enterprise in terms of the application of intelligent technology and environmental protection. Adhering to the philosophy of green and low-carbon high-quality development and in an effort to advance the construction of intelligent and green ports, the enterprise has launched a number of demonstration green and low-carbon port projects that are transferable, worked out new energy application technologies and smart port solutions applicable to ports, and spearheaded green and low-carbon port operations. Furthermore, it has been honored with such titles as “Green Port in Asia-Pacific Region” and “Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advancement in China’s Intelligent Manufacturing”.  (Wu Shuai)
