The Haier Egypt Ecological Park, located in 10th of Ramadan, was recently inaugurated. The inauguration ceremony was attended by people from all walks of life including the President of Egypt, the Chinese ambassador to Egypt, staff members of Haier, representatives from Chinese- and Egyptian-funded companies, dealers and users.

The Haier Egypt Ecological Park is part of Qingdao brands’ efforts to look for overseas presence in a fast manner and fully integrate into local development. Covering an area of 200,000 square kilometers, the park boasts a total designed production capacity of 1.5 million units. Air conditioner and TV production lines in the first phase, whose trial-production happened this March, and lines for washing machines, which will go into production in May, will hit a combined production capacity of 1 million units. The second phase, the construction of which is underway, is focused on refrigerators and freezers. After put into production, the project will not only meet market demand, but also create a lot jobs for local workforce.

According to staff members of Haier, apart from satisfying the market demand in Egypt, the Haier Egypt Ecological Park will reach out to Central and East African markets with a nearly 2 billion population.  (Yang Guang)
