In the newly-concluded Qingming Festival holiday with picturesque spring scenery, tourism in Qingdao boomed like it did in other holidays. According to the data from C-trip, China’s largest online travel platform, travel bookings for Qingdao surged by 165% year on year, the number of ticket orders for tourist attractions in Qingdao rocketed by 299%, and Qingdao was included among the black horse tourist destinations for road trips in the Qingming Festival holiday.
In the just-concluded three-day-long Qingming Festival holiday, Qingdao’s historical urban area, where music performances, exhibitions and fairs were held, was full of vigor and vitality and welcomed 820,000 tourists. Tourists merrily went out in spring to immerse themselves in the charming old urban area. Meanwhile, internet-famous tourist attractions including Zhanqiao Pier, Qinyu Road, Xiaomai Island and Old Stone Man Bathing Beach were also packed with people. Among them, the Xiaomai Island Park welcomed a combined total of 145,000 tourists.
“Deng Ying Li Xue” is a kind of spectacular scenery engraved in the memory of citizens in Qingdao. On April 6, the Laoshan Birthday of All Flowers was launched. Guidance was issued for better enjoying pear blossoms. For example, Beizhai Neighborhood in Laoshan District has rolled out six routes to admire blossoms and launch a range of activities such as concerts and painting amid clusters of flowers. In the three-day-long holiday, the Laoshan Mountain Scenic Spot received more than 110,000 tourists. The camping-featured Jiaozhou Shaohai Tourist Attraction, where camps of a riot of colors were put up on the large lawn alongside Nanhu Lake , welcomed a total of 34,700 tourists in the holiday.
The Qingdao Beer Museum unveiled the cheery and wheat craft beer tailored for the arrival of spring and launched a spring Live show under cherry blossom trees in the Jiushui Tourism Spot of Laoshan Mountain to make more tourists enchanted by the romance unique to Qingdao featuring a combination of poetic elegance, fragrance of flowers and mellow taste of beer.
The Qingdao Mingyue Shanhaijian Tourist Attraction, where many young people wore Han Costumes to experience travelling in an ancient way, welcomed nearly 300,000 tourists in the three-day-long holiday. The Museum of the Former German Governor’s House in Qingdao launched a recreational program for making hand-painted fans, drawing the participation of nearly 100 citizens and tourists to experience the charming traditional Chinese culture.
