In light of the development trends in cities that excel in building economy, the recently-unveiled 2024 Work Priorities for Building Economy in Qingdao have put forward six “endeavors” and 33 measures in an effort to pursue high-quality development of the building economy.

As indicated in the Work Priorities, this year, Qingdao will endeavor to promote the building-industry integration to accelerate the transformation of building industries in low-efficiency areas in a coordinated manner and press ahead with the industrial skyscraper initiative; endeavor to enhance the size of the building economy and its contribution to economic development and step up investment attraction for the building industrial chain; endeavor to develop new ways of administering and running buildings, conduct rating for buildings and offer awards according to related provisions, incorporate governmental services into buildings, and put up a digital administration service platform for building economy; endeavor to renovate and upgrade old buildings, promote the use of intelligent and eco-friendly facilities, make flexible services in buildings refined and customized, and encourage buildings to operate in a unified way. This year, Qingdao endeavors to newly cultivated 13 buildings with an output value of more than RMB 100 mln, making the total number reach 115, and 22 specialized buildings with distinctive features, making the total number reach 102; increase the utilization rate of high buildings by three percentage points to 80%, and facilitate industrial clustering, expansion, cultivation of distinctive features, improvements in quality and performance in the building economy.
