The recently-held Qingdao New-type Industrialization Promotion Conference called for placing emphasis on premiumisation, intelligentization, greenization and cluster-oriented development and accelerating the transformation of industrial development in regard to quality, efficiency and growth drivers.

To highlight premiumisation, Qingdao will persist in boosting industrial innovation with scientific and technological innovation, upgrade conventional industries and competitive industries, bolster emerging industries, seek presence in future industries in advance and speed up industrial transition towards the medium- and high-end parts of value chains; to highlight intelligentization, Qingdao will launch the “Industrial Empowerment of Qingdao” campaign across the board, reinforce and make better use of industrial internet platforms such as COSMOPLat and Ningmengdou and facilitate the cultivation and applications of artificial intelligence industries; to highlight greenization, Qingdao will push ahead with carbon emission reduction in industry and establish a green and low-carbon industrial system and a clean and high-efficiency energy system; to highlight cluster-oriented development, Qingdao will continue to improve the differentiated cultivation system for small, medium and large-sized enterprises and pool resources to develop the leading industry clusters.

In an effort to promote new-type industrial development, Qingdao will prioritize such key industry tracks as new-generation information technology, new energy vehicles (NEVs) and high-end chemical engineering, and introduce, construct and put into production a number of landmark projects in a targeted manner.  (Sun Xin)
