Shandong Province’s first “dual berth” LNG terminal put into operation in Qingdao 2024/1/26 source: International daily Print

The “CESI Qingdao” carrier, laden with 72,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG), was recently moored at the No. 2 Berth of Qingdao Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd.’s LNG receiving terminal, marking Shandong Province’s first “dual berth” LNG terminal has been put into operation and increasing the annual handling capacity of the LNG terminal in Qingdao Port to more than 11 million tons (the equivalent of 16.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas). After the No. 2 Berth is put into use, the terminal will be able to handle on a monthly basis 16 to 17 LNG ships ranging from 30,000 to 266,000 cubic meters and provided with the functions of handling LNG resources.

Located in the Dongjiakouzui Operation Zone of Dongjiakou Harbour Area of Qingdao, the LNG receiving terminal of Sinopec Qingdao Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd. is the first one set up by Sinopec as well as Shandong Province’s sole LNG receiving terminal in service, which supplies gas to Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei and Henan.   (Zhou Jianliang)
