On the evening of December 31, 2023, concerts, dances, parties, fairs and other forms of activities turned the historical urban area of Qingdao into a “La La Land” ablaze with lights, which was deluged with citizens and tourists from all quarters to celebrate the new year’s eve.
With immersive performance by musical bands, wonderful dance performances and gorgeous light shows on skyscrapers, the Shangjieli Haishishanmeng Square was bathed in jubilant atmosphere of celebrating the arrival of new year. “I and my family members come to Qingdao for tourism. Little do we think that we can encounter celebration activities for the new year’s eve. Musical bands give so fascinating performance. Although the audiences don’t know each other, it is so memorable to sing and dance together to the performances.” said Mrs. Jiang, a tourist from Anhui Province.
In the new year’s eve party held in Taixingli, street dance, old Liyuan buildings housed performances, as LIVE shows by musical bands, Chinese drum performance, jazz dancing party, YoungMeet concert, the Longmashe Heixiazi Theater were put on at the same time. At 7: 30 p.m., the youth music festival kicked off as planned. Golden oldies, campus folk songs, and rock and roll were performed successively to appeal to people of different ages. In the fashion show embodying Chinese trends, which was both retro and modern, citizens and tourists scrambled to take photos.
The Dongli new year’s eve fair in Dabao Island cultural leisure neighborhood was filled with a dazzling array of delicious food, handicrafts and cultural and creative products with Chinese characteristics.
