When autumn enters its prime, citizens and tourists flock to streets to enjoy the moment in the city featuring blue seas and azure skies.
It is the most preferable to watch tree leaves in autumn. “No other season than Autumn is more suitable to travel in Qingdao.” Ms. Liu, a tourist from Shanghai who took her child to Qingdao on the weekend, said that they visited Badaguan and Xinhao Mountain and felt pleasant to stay in a starred hotel by the sea. In autumn sightseeing sites, coffee shops and restaurants with fantastic views are packed with customers, and tasting special food in autumn is also part of recreation.
Going to the sea always stands out in the leisurely travel in autumn. The top four internet-famous sea routes, namely noctivagation across Fushan Bay, travel around Fushan Bay, tour of the sailing city by sea and the route from the Olympic Sailing Center to the Underwater World, are extremely popular over weekends and welcome close to 3,000 tourists on a daily basis. The dedicated route for travelling around Juzihai, Fushan Bay, which is newly launched, finds enormous favor with citizens and tourists because riders can have a panoramic view of Qingdao’s historically and culturally famous landmarks when the sun sets. Against the warm autumn sunshine, tourists of different ages wait in line to try sports facilities on the Old Stone Man Beach. Singing by street performers reverberates across the beach, and coffee shops and bookstores are filled up with people.
Spectacular autumn sights are seen in urban areas, but lie more in nature. In the Zhangjialou Neighborhood of the West Coast New Area, citizens and tourists enjoy the maple forest, live in homestays and take part in picking activities, among other forms of experience; or cycle in the forest amid tranquil and comforting autumn breeze; or camp in the maple forest to spend their free time in a different way. It has become a novelty to watch games while traveling. The Shaohai leisure angling base in Jiaozhou has welcomed a stream of tourists as the first national leisure angling contest was held.

Set off by golden leaves and red tiles, the old urban district in Qingdao looks like an oil painting. By Wang Lei
