As of the end of this September, Qingdao has seen 318,500 newly-added jobs in urban areas, and helped 28,800 people start their own business; introduced 220,400 talented people of all kinds, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%.
In the first three quarters of this year, Qingdao’s bureaus of human resources and social securities have carried out talent demand analysis investigations among chain master enterprises and institutions of higher learning in 24 industrial chains with the aim of figuring out talent demand across citywide industries in a scientific and accurate manner, and vigorously launched the top eight events to gather talent and intelligence in Qingdao. For instance, a total of 105,700 young personnel have been introduced or cultivated through the tour of famous colleges and universities. With a focus on high-level professionals including post-doctoral students, Qingdao has worked hard to expand platforms for post-doctoral students and stepped up support for training of post-doctoral students. As a result, up to 76% of post-doctoral students have chosen to stay in Qingdao after graduation. In a bid to invite outstanding global personnel and projects to gain a foothold and prosper in Qingdao, Qingdao held the 2023 Qingdao International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week and the 23rd “Blue Fair” where a combined more than 5,700 job opportunities were offered.
