Comprehensive arrangements have been made for the ecological protection drive in the recently-held Qingdao conference on ecological environmental protection and the beautiful Qingdao initiative. Qingdao will seize the significant opportunity presented by the construction of the pilot area for green low-carbon and high-development in Shandong, coordinate efforts in carbon emissions cut, pollution reduction, landscape engineering and economic growth to achieve azure skies, green lands, blue seas and limpid waters, build at a faster pace itself into a high-quality coastal city suitable for living, working and travelling, and strive to become a beautiful city characterized by fabulous mountain and sea views, charming living environment, vitality and good governance.

Below are the specific measures. Qingdao will continue to work to keep its skies blue, its water clear, and its lands pollution-free, and push ahead of the “Blue Bay” renovation campaign; accelerate the transition towards green and low-carbon development and foster and strengthen new drivers for green growth; optimize the national territorial and spatial development pattern and improve broadly living environment in rural and urban areas; advance the fulfillment of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality in a steady manner and speed up the transition in energy supply.
