Suzhou pingtan is a traditional theatrical art form of storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect in east China's Jiangsu Province.

The Qixi Festival, also referred to as Chinese Valentine's Day, falls on every seventh day of the seventh month on the Chinese lunar calendar. It celebrates the legendary annual meeting between the mythological figures -- the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. The Qixi Festival was celebrated on Aug. 22 or Tuesday this year.

The Qixi Festival was listed as a state-level intangible cultural heritage item in 2006.
