The panda-feature pleasure-ship makes its debut in Minjiang River

A pleasure-ship in the Minjiang River was transformed into an amusing panda-featured ship. On July 17, the panda-featured pleasure-ship, themed “Enjoying Fujian’s River Scape with the Giant Panda, China’s National Treasure” and co-launched by Fujian Bafang Maritime Passenger Transport Co., Ltd., a Fuzhou-based company operating tourism in the Minjiang River, and Fuzhou Panda World, made its maiden voyage. It is said that the distinctive pleasure-ship is the first panda-featured Minjiang River tourist product introduced in Fuzhou.

In the dusk of July 17, the Taijiang Terminal for tourism in the Minjiang River was exceptionally bustling. In the maiden voyage ceremony, nearly 200 guests and Fuzhou citizens together witnessed the appearance of the panda-feature pleasure-boat in the Minjiang River. The panda-featured voyage was operated by “Min Jiang Zhi Xing”, a high-end new energy pleasure-ship, which took on an entirely new look after decorated with a series of panda-related elements.

Inside and outside the pleasure-ship, panda-related elements can be seen everywhere. Charmingly naive cartoon images of the giant panda are printed outside the hull. Walls, table cards, back cushions and indication labels in the cabin all bear panda-related elements. Delicate decorations turned the pleasure-boat in the Minjiang River into a “panda paradise” that looked amusing and adorable.

It is said that Fuzhou Panda World embodies the shared memory of all Fuzhou citizens while tourism in the Minjiang River is an important platform to present Fuzhou to the outside world. The launching of this panda-featured pleasure-ship is an innovation effort jointly made by two local players in cultural tourism. Following the maiden voyage, the panda-feature pleasure-ship will see a gradual adjustment in the number of voyages to satisfy the needs of tourists. (Li Jinqing)
