The culture exhibition on the story of Kuliang as a summer resort, the first section of the photography exhibition under the theme Century-old Kuliang Bonds, Stunning Photos in Fuzhou, was inaugurated on June 19, and appealed to a large number of citizens and tourists.

The first day of the exhibition coincided with the Dragon Boat Festival. Nearly a century ago, foreign nationals came to Kuliang to avoid summer heat on an annual basis when the Dragon Boat Festival drew near. As an exhibition highlighting how people avoided summer heat, played sports or lived in Kuliang, the event restrains from using the conventional means of displaying things in a static state, but chooses to put on an exhibition across the Kuliang Resort Area. Through a variety of means such as photo shows, live-action installations, AI-enabled interaction, motion sense games and NPC interaction, the event is intended to provide an immersive cultural tour, in which visitors can have things to watch, find amusement and experience new feelings.

Diplomats, businessmen, doctors, education practitioners and missionaries from more than 20 countries and regions used to be drawn to Kuliang, a famous summer resort in modern China, to spend their summer time. Over the century-long period, Chinese and foreign residents lived in the same place and interacted with each other, leaving behind a lot of valuable historical memories. With a focus on these stimulating stories, the exhibition will have historic scenes integrated with modern times in an aim to develop Kuliang into a cultural museum that has spanned nearly a century and will continue to thrive.

With a focus on the five sites of different ages, namely, the cedar king park, the former site of the swimming pool in the old street, the Public Service Community of Nations, the exhibition hall for historical buildings in Kuliang, the post office in Kuliang and the ancient well, the event is focused on the introduction of the most typical living scenes in the summer resort such as playing tennis, swimming, mountain climbing, camping and social activities. In this way, tourists can observe and learn about things while traveling leisurely amid the mountain forest, and get themselves enchanted with the century-old cultural heritage of Kuliang.

The sponsor hopes that the exhibition will enable tourists to admire natural scenery and see first-hand how residents in Kuliang spent summer time over a century ago, and to find out how sports culture, life-related culture and people-to-people friendships between China and foreign countries in Kuliang turn out to be uniquely charming. It is reported that the exhibition will last for a month.
