A series of activities themed on intangible cultural heritage and Chinese fashion tend, sponsored by the Fuzhou Municipal Cultural Center, was inaugurated on August 16. Immersive flash mob activities on intangible cultural heritage and Chinese fashion trend were staged in the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, and a continuous stream of splendid performances, including Tai Chi (Chinese shadow boxing), puppetry, Fujian Guzheng, and song and dance performances as part of intangible cultural heritage, were put on to enable tourists to get immersed into a cultural experience that features the integration of intangible cultural heritage and the time-honored city.

In the form of mobile exhibitions and performances + interactions through intangible cultural heritage, successive performances were put on in such signature sites in Fuzhou as the north square of Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, Fengyulang and the Former Residence of Dong Zhiyi. Movements of the performer of Chen-style Tai Chi Boxing, which are characterized by the combination of softness and hardness, epitomize the charm of traditional martial arts. Being exquisite, the marionette show Seeing-off, which was performed inside Fengyulang, won prolonged applause. In the Fujian Guzheng performance Xiao Yingzhou, the elegant music sound contrasted finely with the charm of the ancient city.

Moreover, the chorus Mi Yun Chang Ge that absorbed music for voices in the puppet show, the show Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains that highlighted chi-pao button culture, the dance performance Fu Tian Fu Di Zan Fu Qi (Good Fortune Everywhere) that introduced Fuzhous Three-blade Hairpins and other performances were put on in an innovative way to showcase the charm of intangible cultural heritage, and were so appealing that many tourists stopped to take photos.

The series of activities themed on intangible cultural heritage and Chinese fashion trend will last from this August to March 2026. The eight-month-long cultural feast, which comprise a total of 66 activities, will be split into two sections, namely, lecture rooms and stages for intangible cultural heritage and Chinese fashion trend, and are aimed at invigorating in an innovative manner an abundance of intangible cultural heritage in Fuzhou and present the cultural charm of Fuzhou, capital of Fujian Province, in the new era.
