SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Boeing and Alaska Airlines on Wednesday announced the carrier's largest-ever airplane order, including 105 Boeing 737-10 airplanes, five 787 widebody jets, and options for 35 additional 737 MAX jets.

The 737-10 will grow and replace Alaska Airlines' single-aisle fleet to support its modernization strategy and enable future network expansion, Boeing said in a news release.

The 787 Dreamliner order supports its long-haul growth plans, enabling the airline to expand its international network.

This order kicks off the 60th year of the two companies' partnership, said the release.
